This is a wall hanging approx 40" x 40" and it has, on top of the circle piecing,
vat dye discharge printing on top of the piecing; risky business getting the whole
block pieced then daubing on the vat dye and discharge paste and steaming
it.... and .... finding out what printed and what flashed (that's where the discharge
goes way over the printed area and creates the halo effect. If I could control flash,
I could rule the world!

The second detail below is a good example of flash! Remarkably, the base fabric
didn't go back to white, the original color, but kept some of the green and yellow
tones that heighten the printed dot stems.
